One of the first images that come to mind when the topic of solar energy arises is the solar panel, typically portrayed as an oversized, reflective box parked on a rooftop waiting to catch the suns rays. This is changing rapidly as solar cell technology grows in leaps and bounds.
As with anything related to the sun there is going to be heat involved, this heat can also be collected and used to heat both your water and incoming air for your ventilation systems using solar power panels. Commonly known as a photovoltaic panel, or PV panel, solar power panels are lined with a semi-conductive material, typically silicon based that produces electricity when sunlight passes through it. This lining is called the solar cell. The electricity then travels through the conductive material into the electrical system that powers your home or business.

Of course as with anything involving the sun, there will be heat. Using solar power panels, this heat can be used to warm the water and the air in the ventilation systems using solar power panels. What people commonly call a solar panel is more properly called a PV or Photovoltaic panel. Solar cells line the panel and are made with silicon, or some other semi-conductive material, that produces electricity when the sun shines on it. After being collected in the cells, the electricity can flow directly to your home.

Even though people generally think of solar power panels as some sort of oversized reflective box that catches the sun’s rays, that perception is changing quickly as the technology for solar cells is progressing.
The heat that is continuously created by the sun can be harnessed for use in heating both water systems and ventilation systems through a solar power panel, generally called a photovoltaic or PV panel. A solar power panel is lined with semi-conductive material, usually silicon-based, which generates electricity whenever light from the sun goes through it. The lining is known as the solar cell. The electricity travels via the semi-conductive material to the electrical system powering your house.
